Biostatistician

The Department of Biostatistics at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is seeking a Staff Biostatistician to support and advance St. Jude's mission that no child dies in the dawn of life.

This position is housed in the Biostatistics Shared Resource (BSR) and provides opportunities to collaborate on a wide range of basic, translational, clinical and population-science research projects across the institution. The successful candidate will work closely with Biostatistics faculty, collaborating clinical, population and/or laboratory scientists in a multidisciplinary team science environment.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will

• apply appropriate statistical and data science methods to support a wide range of biomedical research projects,
• collaborate with Biostatistics faculty, clinicians, population scientists, and/or laboratory scientists to develop study objectives and analytic strategies,
• conduct analyses ranging from standard statistical workflows to more computationally intensive approaches, depending on project needs, and
• contribute to abstracts, manuscripts, and other scholarly publications or reports

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

• Strong foundation in statistical and data science methods, with experience in programming (e.g., R, SAS, Python)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain statistical concepts and results to nonstatistical audience
• Strong organizational and timemanagement skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
• Ability to adapt analytical approaches to different study designs, data types, and research questions
• Ability to learn and apply domain knowledge as needed for specific studies
• Interest in contributing to biostatistical education and training efforts (e.g., training sessions, workshops) for the broader research community
• Ability to coach colleagues and mentor junior staff biostatisticians

Associate Biostatistician

• Minimum Requirement: Bachelor's degree in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology or related field with 2+ years of experience(OR)entry-level Master's degree.

Biostatistician

• Minimum Requirement: Bachelor's degree in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, or related fields with 4+ years of experience in biostatistics and/or epidemiological consulting and/or research(OR)Master's degree with 2+ years of experience(OR)entry-level PhD.
• Experience in standard statistical, epidemiological, or pharmacometrics methods, statistical software programming, and/or study design is preferred.
