Under the general direction of the Chief Campus Counsel, this position provides high-level executive and a comprehensive range of specialized executive-level management and operational support to the Chief Campus Counsel and the Office of Legal Affairs (OLA), and when necessary, provides back-up assistance to the Provost and Chancellor's offices. This position serves as the primary contact for the Office of Legal Affairs, making high-level internal and external contacts of a sensitive nature requiring confidentiality, professionalism, and exceptional discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgment. Working in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities, competing deadlines, and urgent requests, this position serves as the focal point for incoming communications; screens and directs inquiries; manages complex calendars, meetings, and travel; assists with special projects; prepares, edits, and drafts documents; maintains office databases, accounts payable, and electronic files; maintains the orderliness of the reception area; and processes online requests for meeting room reservations, dining services, parking, fleet, printing, and Physical Plant services to support the efficient operation of the Office of Legal Affairs. This position will have access to attorney-client privileged communications, attorney work product, and confidential information regarding the University of California and UCR's management positions in litigation and labor negotiations, grievances and arbitrations, transactions, investigations, and research, and will assist with all internal and external communications from the OLA and retention of outside counsel for such matters. This position also will be expected to review collective bargaining parameters and other confidential and privileged information related to bargaining from the University of California, UCR's Human Resources office, and senior leadership. The position will be expected to apply extensive knowledge of advanced techniques, concepts, and methods and independently manage complex administrative activities for the Chief Campus Counsel as assigned. The position is responsible for a broad range of communication and coordination activities involving UCR management, the University of California, the public, and local, state and federal agencies. In addition, the position will be responsible for independently managing and/or deploying the appropriate resources needed to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of necessary meeting materials, along with creating, editing and reviewing correspondence and presentations. The position will work with the OLA team and other administrators in the University of California and UCR offices to achieve the goals and objectives of the office while maintaining the trust of University of California and UCR management to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. This position is highly visible, regularly handles sensitive, confidential, and time critical projects making discretion and diplomacy essential.

The full salary range for the Executive Assistant & Legal Operations Manager, Office of Legal Affairs is $78,200.00 - $141,400.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $109,800.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. | |
