We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our business as US Director, Project Controls, responsible for the strategic leadership, development, and execution of project services capabilities across a major location.

Position Summary

As the US Director, Project Controls, you will provide leadership and direction for all project services disciplines, including project controls, cost management, estimating, planning, scheduling, forecasting, reporting, and performance management. You will be responsible for building, mentoring, and leading a high-performing team while ensuring the successful delivery of project services support across a diverse project portfolio.

This is a highly visible leadership role that partners closely with project, operational, and regional leadership to drive project performance, operational excellence, and business success. You will establish the vision for the project services function, develop strategic plans, and create an environment where people can grow, develop, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a team of project services professionals across multiple disciplines.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Mentor and coach managers and individual contributors to support career growth and succession planning.
  • Build organizational capability by identifying development opportunities and creating pathways for future leaders.
  • Drive employee engagement and maintain a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.
  • Make key decisions regarding talent acquisition, performance management, employee development, and workforce planning.
  • Develop and execute the project controls strategy aligned with Worley's business objectives and growth plans.
  • Establish departmental goals, policies, procedures, and performance metrics that support operational success.
  • Partner with location and regional leadership to improve project execution, profitability, forecasting accuracy, and project outcomes.
  • Lead strategic initiatives and cross-functional programs that enhance organizational effectiveness and project delivery performance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on project controls and project services matters.
  • Provide oversight of project controls functions, including cost control, estimating, planning and scheduling, progress measurement, reporting, risk analysis, and forecasting.
  • Ensure consistency and compliance with Worley project delivery systems, processes, tools, and governance requirements.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts through optimization of systems, processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Support large and complex projects through strategic oversight and guidance to project services teams.
  • Build strong relationships with project managers, functional leaders, clients, and senior executives.
  • Present complex project data, business cases, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Influence decision-making through strong communication, business acumen, and analytical insight.
  • Collaborate across functions to ensure alignment of priorities and achievement of business objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, Project Management, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 20+ years of relevant project services, project controls, or project management experience.
  • Significant leadership experience managing large teams and complex organizational structures.
  • Proven experience leading cost management, earned value, change management and planning and scheduling functions within energy, chemicals, resources, and infrastructure environments on EPC projects.
  • Large and mega project experience.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, complex projects, and geographically diverse teams.
