Location: 1564 South Washington Street, DuQuoin IL, 62832

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, 1st Shift

Duration: 3 months

Job Summary

Day to Day Responsibilities of this Position and Description of Project/Assignment? - Candidate will be working at an IOP location. Draw blood specimens from pediatric to geriatric age groups and uses system for registering patients. Also performing patient registration and specimen processing. Will be responsible for keeping accurate patient manifest and remaining in compliance with the company. Will be working alone.

Note: Employee will be receiving training on system.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Perform approximately 20 blood draws per day.



  • Perform blood draws on patients across different age groups, including pediatric and geriatric patients.



  • Perform venipuncture using appropriate phlebotomy techniques.



  • Interact professionally and courteously with patients throughout the specimen collection process.



  • Follow established procedures for patient identification and specimen collection.



  • Ensure accurate specimen labeling and documentation.



  • Assist in performing various assigned phlebotomy and laboratory duties.



  • Assist with troubleshooting issues related to daily workflow and specimen collection.



  • Make workflow recommendations to improve efficiency.



  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.



  • Follow established company and laboratory procedures and safety requirements.



  • Work collaboratively with other members of the team.



  • Assist with training as needed.


    Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months of diagnostic phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience performing blood draws.
  • Comfortable drawing blood from patients of all age groups.
  • Ability to accurately maintain patient and specimen records.
  • Strong communication and patient-care skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.

    * What is the work environment? Collect specimens from pediatric to geriatric range of patients.
