The Rutgers Center for Mathematics, Science, and Computer Education seeks to hire instructors for their Advanced Placement Institute for non-credit courses across various disciplines.
Instructor duties include designing and delivering an engaging 30-hour course in the instructor's AP subject area, aligned with College Board standards and current best practices. Teaching, preparing lesson plans, preparing and grading exams if applicable. Providing any relevant and necessary documents/course materials to students. Providing constructive feedback to participants. The course content must include:
- AP course goals, objectives, content, resources, bibliographies, and equipment.
- AP Exam development and scoring practices.
- Syllabi, lesson plans, and assignments.
- Strategies for refreshing and improving existing AP courses.
- Recent changes to the AP Course and Exam Description.
- Strategies for teaching students at beginning or intermediate levels.
Instructors may teach in one of the following areas:
