We are looking for an Electrical Assembly Technician to join our Generator Manufacturing Division. This is an opportunity to use your electrical skills in a hands-on manufacturing environment while learning and working with custom-built generator systems.


Job Summary

The Electrical Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical control boxes, panels, and custom wire harnesses used in generator systems.

This position requires the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams and use a variety of electrical hand tools and test equipment. The technician will work closely with Production and Engineering to build assemblies to specification, support engineering changes and prototypes, and ensure finished products meet Central Power's quality and performance standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, comfortable working with electrical systems, and takes pride in building a quality product.


Responsibilities

  • Assemble and wire electrical control boxes, panels, and wire harnesses according to electrical drawings, blueprints, and production specifications.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of material, and assembly instructions.
  • Cut, strip, route, terminate, crimp, and solder wires using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Install and connect electrical components while ensuring proper wire routing, labeling, clearances, and connections.
  • Work with Engineering on drawing revisions, component changes, and product improvements.
  • Assist with the design and assembly of wire harnesses for prototype and custom generator applications.
  • Verify components and assemblies against blueprints, parts lists, and established specifications.
  • Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, quality, and proper workmanship.
  • Test and troubleshoot electrical circuits, wire harnesses, and control boxes using a digital multimeter and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Identify wiring, component, or assembly issues and communicate them to the Production Foreman or Engineering.
  • Complete required quality-control documentation and job paperwork.
  • Accurately record labor and time associated with assigned jobs.
  • Notify the Production Foreman when work is completed or when issues may affect production schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow established assembly procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Production and Engineering to meet customer deadlines and production goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Electrical technical school certificate or education in Electrical Technology, Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of electrical assembly, electrical wiring, controls, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, components, and electrical assembly practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with electrical hand tools, wire strippers, crimpers, soldering equipment, and digital multimeters preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment operation.
  • Ability to consistently assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical components and assemblies.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and established processes.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team-oriented production environment.


Work Conditions

This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, twisting, and lifting 50+ pounds. The position may require working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.

The work environment is industrial and may include exposure to welding fumes, sparks, heat, smoke, dust, noise, moving equipment, chemicals, and varying temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all safety procedures are required.
