The Quality Engineer position requires split time between offices and production floor, typically 60/40, respectively. This can vary in either direction based on general operations and priorities. Roles/ responsibilities include Tucson, AZ and Chandler, AZ locations. Travel to Chandler location is typically 1 day per month.

Education Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant manufacturing, quality, certifications, and technical training will be considered.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, manufacturing drawings, and process documentation.


Experience Requirements



  • Minimum 2 years of Quality Assurance experience; aerospace or defense industry experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015 and/or AS9100D quality management systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, charts, and pivot tables.
  • Experience conducting internal audits and supporting customer or third-party audits.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Knowledge of root cause corrective action (RCCA), 5-Why analysis, and 8D problem-solving methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Nadcap Chemical Processing requirements.
  • Basic GD&T knowledge and ability to read manufacturing drawings.
  • Experience working with process control systems, testing programs, and quality documentation.
  • Interest in chemistry, laboratory testing, and manufacturing process improvement.


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments, typically splitting time between the two.
  • Ability to stand, walk, inspect products, and perform production floor evaluations throughout the workday.
  • Occasional travel between manufacturing locations as needed.
  • Ability to utilize measurement, inspection, and testing equipment safely and accurately.


Job Duties



  • Lead customer complaint investigations and root cause corrective action activities.
  • Perform 5-Why analysis, 8D investigations, containment actions, and impact assessments.
  • Conduct internal audits and support customer and third-party quality audits.
  • Develop and maintain process control documents, work instructions, and quality procedures.
  • Analyze manufacturing data, monitor process performance, and prepare quality reports.
  • Schedule and manage testing activities, including production sampling and laboratory evaluations.
  • Utilize inspection tools such as calipers, scales, coating thickness gauges, and gloss meters to verify quality standards.
