About the Role

KARL STORZ is seeking a Senior Network Administrator to help ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our global network infrastructure. In this highly visible role, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for maintaining and optimizing enterprise networking environments across manufacturing, distribution, and corporate locations. You will contribute to network architecture improvements, drive operational excellence, and partner closely with Information Security and IT leadership to support a secure, scalable, and resilient technology environment.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee and optimize enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and SD-WAN environments to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and root-cause analysis for complex network incidents and critical escalations.
  • Administer and enhance routing, switching, firewall, VPN, and cloud connectivity solutions across multiple sites.
  • Support Zero Trust initiatives through network segmentation, access control, certificate-based authentication, and security policy enforcement.
  • Implement automation and configuration management practices using scripting and automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain proactive network monitoring, telemetry, and alerting capabilities to identify issues before they impact users.
  • Partner with Information Security, Quality, and business stakeholders to support audits, compliance requirements, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Mentor Network Administrators and contribute to long-term network strategy, capacity planning, and infrastructure modernization efforts.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of enterprise network engineering or network administration experience supporting multi-site environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Strong expertise with enterprise routing and switching technologies including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, QoS, and spanning tree.
  • Hands-on experience administering firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and Azure cloud connectivity solutions.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues using monitoring, packet analysis, and diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with scripting and automation technologies such as Python or PowerShell.

Nice to Have

  • Industry certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, PCNSE, or Azure Network Engineer Associate.
  • Experience with SD-WAN, network access control (NAC), 802.1X, and micro-segmentation.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, OT, IoMT, or regulated industry network environments.
