We are seeking a dependable Forklift Operator to support warehouse and production operations in Abbeville, LA. The Forklift Operator will safely move, stage, load, unload, and organize materials and finished products throughout the facility. This position requires previous forklift experience, strong safety awareness, and the willingness to assist with general material-handling duties when needed.

Job Duties



  • Safely operate a forklift to move raw materials, supplies, pallets, and finished products throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers as assigned.
  • Transport materials between receiving, storage, production, and shipping areas.
  • Stage materials and products for production or shipment.
  • Stack, organize, and retrieve palletized materials.
  • Ensure loads are stable and properly positioned before transporting.
  • Perform required pre-shift forklift inspections.
  • Report equipment damage, mechanical problems, and unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain awareness of pedestrians and other equipment while operating the forklift.
  • Follow designated forklift traffic patterns and facility safety procedures.
  • Assist with palletizing, material handling, warehouse organization, and other general duties when not operating the forklift.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all PPE, sanitation, and company safety requirements.



Education Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous warehouse training or powered industrial truck training is beneficial.



Experience Requirements



  • Previous forklift operating experience.
  • Ability to safely maneuver a forklift in an active warehouse/production environment.
  • Ability to load, unload, stage, stack, and transport palletized materials.
  • Ability to perform and document basic pre-operation equipment inspections.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong awareness of pedestrians and surrounding equipment.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow all safety and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to successfully complete required forklift evaluation/training before independent operation.



Preferred Qualifications



  • 1+ year of recent forklift experience.
  • Previous warehouse, manufacturing, food-processing, or production experience.
  • Experience loading and unloading trucks or trailers.
  • Experience working around palletized products and production materials.
  • Previous experience performing general warehouse/material-handling duties.



Physical Capabilities



  • Must be able to sit and operate a forklift for extended periods and frequently get on and off the equipment.
  • Position requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and handling materials throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to perform general warehouse duties when not operating the forklift.
  • Work may involve varying temperatures, wet or damp areas, noise, odors associated with bait products, and active forklift and pedestrian traffic.
