Operations Manager - Center for Therapeutic Genetics

Broad Institute
paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k), retirement plan, remote work
United States, Massachusetts, Cambridge
Oct 02, 2026

Description & Requirements

The Center for Therapeutic Genetics (CTG) is a collaborative nonprofit effort, pioneering a new model for rare genetic disease treatment: one that treats developing gene-editing therapies as a process vs. a product. Rather than developing each therapy as its own standalone treatment, CTG builds reusable, platform infrastructure: clinically validated editors, delivery systems, and standardized workflows that can be adapted patient-by-patient, more like a surgical procedure than a manufactured product. By treating these therapies as a process rather than a product and sharing our learnings, this "genetic surgery" model has the potential to extend care to the hundreds of millions of rare disease patients left behind by traditional drug development.

CTG is a tri-institutional effort between the Broad Institute, The Jackson Laboratory's Rare Disease Translational Center (JAX-RDTC) and Boston Children's Hospital (BCH), with the Broad currently serving as the administrative hub. This role would sit as a Broad employee, reporting to the CTG Director, but work closely with colleagues at JAX and BCH to coordinate day-to-day program operations and cross-institutional workflows across CTG's operations.

We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and proactive Operations Manager to support the operations, logistics, and governance for CTG. In this role you will serve as the crucial link between CTG strategy and day-to-day execution, ensuring that our complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives are successfully coordinated and advanced.

The Operations Manager will work with the CTG Director and staff to enable smooth and efficient execution towards CTG goals, maintain budgets and timelines, support key internal and external alliances, and overall, develop right-sized processes to sustain and scale CTG. This role will also help build the essential infrastructure needed for seamless collaboration across CTG institutions.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated independent judgment, strong workflow management, and the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and institutions. Hands-on scientific experience is not required, but the candidate must have the intellectual versatility to understand therapeutic translation (nonclinical and clinical) in sufficient detail to support CTG's work, paired with the business and operational acumen to advance CTG's sustainability. CTG is in its founding phase; this role will be important in building and setting the foundations of operational excellence.
