Laborer - Travel Required (PA, NY, NJ)

POSITION SUMMARY

Applicants must have a current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record meeting KEMRON vehicle insurance requirements.

KEMRON Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking dependable Construction Laborers for environmental remediation, heavy construction, and highway construction projects in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area and throughout New Jersey and New York.

This position performs hands-on construction and remediation work and requires frequent overnight and out-of-state travel. Project locations, schedules, durations, and start dates vary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS OF POSITION

• Load, unload, move, organize, and secure tools, equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Excavate, fill, brace, and compact trenches and ditches; dig, tamp, grade, and level earth.
• Assist with asphalt placement, patching, excavation, backfilling, and scaffolding.
• Clear vegetation, brush, culverts, drainage areas, and work zones; remove and properly dispose of debris.
• Operate hand tools and small power equipment safely.
• Assist equipment operators, truck drivers, foremen, superintendents, and other project personnel.
• Maintain a clean, orderly job site and secure tools and equipment at the end of each workday.
• Follow project procedures, work plans, safety plans, and instructions.
• Participate in orientations, training, daily safety meetings, and toolbox talks; promptly report unsafe conditions, injuries, and equipment problems.
• Perform other construction and environmental remediation duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to perform strenuous physical work for extended periods.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and work independently or as part of a field team.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, construction materials, and job-site safety.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work safely and respectfully with coworkers, subcontractors, clients, and other project personnel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Work outdoors in rain, extreme heat, cold, humidity, dust, mud, and other adverse field conditions.
• Work shifts of 8 to 12 hours and overtime, weekends, holidays, or varying schedules as project needs require.
• Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, push, pull, and traverse uneven or unstable terrain.
• Frequently lift and move lighter materials and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
• Work around moving vehicles, heavy equipment, loud noise, vibration, asphalt, dust, and potentially hazardous materials while wearing required personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection when required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Frequent overnight and out-of-state travel is required for projects in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area and throughout New Jersey, New York, and other locations.
• Must pass required medical monitoring and HAZWOPER physical examinations.
• Must obtain medical clearance and complete fit testing for respiratory protection when required.
• Must read, understand, and follow KEMRON and project-specific Health and Safety Plans and standard operating procedures.
