SUMMARY
Join a collaborative tax team in a hands-on role with meaningful exposure to partnership, corporate, individual, and trust taxation. The Tax Senior Accountant prepares and reviews tax returns and workpapers, contributes to tax planning and financial reporting, and partners with internal and external stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely results. This role offers the opportunity to deepen technical expertise, improve tax processes, and contribute to projects that support the broader organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the end-to-end tax compliance and reporting process for partnerships, corporations, trusts, and individuals, including:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and international tax return workpapers and returns for corporations, partnerships, individuals, and trusts.
- Research technical tax matters and calculate book-to-tax differences to support accurate tax reporting.
- Coordinate the timely preparation and filing of quarterly estimated tax payments, extensions, and federal, state, and international tax returns.
- Maintain accurate, well-organized tax books, records, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate workflows and gather required documentation from internal finance teams, executives, and external advisors to support timely tax return preparation.
- Help deliver accurate and timely tax filings while identifying tax-efficient approaches and managing organizational risk.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and documentation of tax compliance processes.
- Contribute to tax planning, issue resolution, accounting support, and other tax initiatives, including:
- Preparation of tax projections.
- Research, coordinate, and resolve tax notices and other correspondence with taxing authorities.
- Participant in various tax projects as needed to support tax and finance function.
- Continuous learning to increase tax and accounting technical expertise.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with internal and external working team members.
- Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
- Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPAA.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field required; master's degree in taxation or a related discipline preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of tax experience, general accounting experience is preferred.
- Experience with partnership, individual, and trust taxation required; corporate or international tax experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of US and state tax reporting requirements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with tax compliance and accounting platforms such as ONESOURCE, GoSystem, and CCH.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work on schedule.
- Collaborative working style and the ability to build effective relationships across teams.
- Consistent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple assignments.
- Curiosity and adaptability, with the ability to learn new processes and complete assignments independently.
- Sound judgment and the ability to make timely decisions within established workflows and deadlines.
- Strong communication and responsiveness when coordinating with colleagues, executives, and external advisors.
