Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Working under supervision learns to apply standard engineering principles to perform duties

Duties include:

• Learning to apply standard Engineering tasks. Begins working knowledge of applicable codes.
• Performs routine designs and calculations in accordance with established standards.
• Assists in preparing engineering reports, studies, calculations, etc. as required.
• Participates in conferences with client to learn how to establish project objectives and resolve technical problems.
• Demonstrates ability to get along with coworkers, customers and visitors.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Selected candidate will gain experience working on DOE or DOD government projects working with:

• Work on HVAC systems
• Piping/Plumbing layout
• Develop knowledge base for development of Mechanical drawing packages for construction.
• Develop working knowledge of Mechanical computer software.
• Obtain knowledge of ASME, ASHRAE and other applicable codes

Job Requirements

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

EIT or ability to obtain EIT within 6 months

Demonstrated 0-2 years of previous engineering experience

CAD experience with AutoCad or Microstation is a plus

Federal Government Clearance:

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
