Title: Project Cost Accountant

Location: Shreveport, LA (Hybrid)


POSITION SUMMARY : The Project Cost Accountant serves as the primary liaison between Project Management, Procurement, and Finance teams. This role is responsible for tracking project purchase orders, monitoring vendor invoicing, maintaining accurate project cost records, and ensuring commitments are invoiced and closed out in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work closely with project teams to ensure financial information remains accurate throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Serve as the primary financial point of contact between Project Managers, Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Finance.
  • Track all project purchase orders from issuance through final invoicing and closeout.
  • Monitor open purchase orders and work with vendors and project teams to ensure timely invoicing.
  • Review outstanding commitments and identify purchase orders that should be closed or adjusted.
  • Maintain accurate records of project commitments, invoices, and remaining balances.
  • Assist Project Managers with budget tracking and cost reporting. EVS if required.
  • Assist Project Managers with data collection for all exhibit Bs and info needed for change orders/contracts
  • Support Project Planners with Scheduling as needed.
  • Reconcile purchase order values against invoiced amounts and approved changes.
  • Maintain logs of change orders and ensure supporting documentation is properly recorded.
  • Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve invoicing discrepancies.
  • Support monthly project cost reviews and assist with forecasting project expenditures.
  • Work with Accounts Payable to ensure invoices are processed accurately and on schedule.
  • Prepare project financial reports and provide updates on outstanding commitments, pending invoices, and cost trends.
  • Support project closeout activities by ensuring all purchase orders, invoices, and financial records are completed and properly documented.
  • Identify potential financial issues and escalate concerns to Project Management and Finance leadership.

Education/Experience:


  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field. - PREFERRED DEGREE NOT REQUIRED
  • 3+ years of experience in project accounting, construction accounting, procurement, accounts payable, or project financial support.
  • Experience tracking purchase orders, invoices, and project costs.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Project Managers, vendors, and finance personnel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.



Preferred Experience


  • Construction, data center, or project-based accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite & Procore
  • Experience supporting large capital projects and subcontractor invoicing.



Computer Skills:


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications such as: Excel, Word, and Outlook


  • Knowledge of NetSuite is a PLUS.


  • Strong Excel and data management skills. Primavera / Microsoft Project skills

Pay Range: $65,013 - $97,580 per hour
