Description General Position Overview The Analyst role is responsible for performing a variety of tax and treasury related activities that support financial compliance requirements for the company. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Treasury & Tax and will actively engage with Executive Leadership and functional leaders throughout the organization. This role is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated analyst who seeks to make a meaningful impact in the core financial areas of tax and treasury for the business while developing experience with more complex and nuanced strategic finance initiatives unique to a private, ESOP manufacturing company. Essential Job Functions Demonstrate SoundOff Signal's Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers Support SoundOff's Capital Expenditure process from project underwriting to project completion and asset capitalization, partnering with the FP&A team to monitor adherence to CapEx targets Oversee SoundOff's fleet management activity by providing fleet change recommendations to the Sales Operations team, supporting repairs & maintenance decisions, ensuring driver policies are adhered to, managing vehicle insurance claims, and other activities as identified Partner with the Senior Manager of Treasury & Tax to effectively manage SoundOff's corporate tax activities, including multi-state & international tax filings, R&D tax credit analysis, and other tax items as identified Coordinate activities around sales and use tax returns, VAT, 1099 preparation, personal & property tax returns and preparing related tax audit documentation as needed Administer compliance activities related to annual reporting requirements, state nexus management, and resale certificate administration Build and administer a corporate compliance framework to manage items such as corporate entity statutory filings, business registrations & renewals, and registered agent management Coordinate external reporting and compliance engagements for outside income tax preparation by maintaining the request calendar, assembling supporting schedules, and coordinating timelines Assist with various capital planning processes including compiling lender reporting packages and internal working capital reporting Own month-end close activities for assigned tax and treasury general ledger accounts, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and variance analysis, escalating unresolved items to the Senior Manager of Treasury & Tax and/or Controllership group Analyzes financial reporting for management as needed Able to perform job consistently and without excessive absenteeism or tardiness Other duties as assigned Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related area of study. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 2+ years related experience in tax, treasury, corporate accounting, or public accounting Progress toward CPA, CMA, or an MBA is a plus Advanced Microsoft Excel experience Demonstrated knowledge/experience with accounting and GAAP Demonstrated knowledge/experience with sales and use tax filing preferred Demonstrated knowledge/experience with fixed asset and fleet management preferred Proven analytical ability and strong attention to detail Self-initiator, team player, effective communicator, with a customer focus Ability to effectively manage recurring deadlines and competing priorities Proficient in core Microsoft Office software applications ERP Software experience beneficial Working Conditions Mostly office environment, occasional light manufacturing environment Fast-paced, team-oriented environment Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting Some level of domestic and/or international travel may be required May work remotely Mostly normal business hours with occasional need to flex hours | |
