Location: Grants Pass, OR

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM. - 4:00 P.M. Overtime as needed.

Wages:$24.95+/per hour DOE

Drug and alcohol testing:Subject to pre-employmentdrug testingand random selection drug and alcohol testing per DOT requirements and Company policy.

Responsible for the efficient and effective operation and daily maintenance of heavy equipment used for operation; spotting, screening and removing unwanted and recyclable materials; and maintaining positive customer and employee relations.

.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain assigned equipment
  • Rips, moves, loads and places solid waste material, rock and dirt.
  • Cleans cabs, tracks, wheels, teeth and other components of machinery.
  • Spots, screens and removes unwanted and recyclable materials.
  • Identifies waste materials inappropriate to the landfill and removes them to an appropriate location. Assists spotters and attendants in maintaining a presentable organization and appearance.
  • Participate in and support training and initiatives to improve service quality, safety, customer and employee relations, andoperational efficiencyand effectiveness.
  • Knowledge and practical skills to safely and efficiently operate large heavy equipment including but not limited todozer, compactor, excavator, articulated dump truck and water trucks.
  • Yard andfacility maintenanceincluding debris and clean up
  • Spotting Trucks
  • Required to work in compliance with all required permits.
  • Variousutility tasksas needed
  • Learning the operations of transfer station
  • Specific duties can change on a daily basis as operation needs change

Position Requirements:

  • AValid Driver's Licensewith Clean Driving Record (Required)
  • Class B driver's licenseOR the ability to obtain aClass B driver's licensewithin 6 months if required.
  • Legible handwriting and basic communications skills. Ability to carry out oral and written instructions and read equipment instruction manuals.
  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures. Ability to work safely alone and with others.
  • Works with a sense of honesty, trustworthiness, and good decision-making skills.
  • Time managementskills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace, responding to multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Comfortable usingsmart phoneand tablet technology to record daily activities and communicate with team.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Tolerance to work in extreme weather and environmental conditions - temperature ranges from below freezing to over 110 degrees, rain and snow, wind, dust and mud.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 pounds by hand, and work with others and/or machines to lift heavier objects.
  • Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to clean wire, heavy cable, dirt and other debris while working in awkward positions from operational components of the equipment on a daily basis. Requires use of various hand tools including shovels, picks, etc.
  • Capacity to operate the equipment for up to 3 hours at a time, and between 4 and 11 1/2 hours in a workday.
  • Mobility to repeatedly access and egress the heavy equipment on all types of flat and sloped terrain, as well as bend, twist and extend the body duringequipment operationto observe the operation of the machine and its immediate surrounds.
  • Strength and coordination in the feet, legs, hands and arms to operate the controls while being jarred and jostled in the cab of the equipment and experiencing sudden vertical changes in position.
  • Ability to safely climb on and off heavy equipment to operate, clean andinspect.
