Position Summary: Performs various tasks in the shipping and receiving department to include selecting and staging orders, assisting with the receiving of inbound freight, and operating forklift and pallet jacks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Utilize computer-generated reports to stage and load orders accurately in preparation for prompt shipment.
- Verifies, documents, and slot shipments according to sales orders.
- Select and assemble orders from inventory, carefully verifying information and quantities.
- Place products on pallets, transfers to staging area and loads on truck.
- Responsible for operating all types of powered industrial trucks to include powered pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Responsible for staging finished goods for storage and/or shipment.
- Ensure quality of products is maintained and verify correct label, weight, and date information on products that you are handling.
- Follow policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Report any process or equipment problems to supervisor.
- Responsible for housekeeping, cleanliness, and sanitary conditions within the department.
- Report work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor.
- Perform all duties accurately and efficiently.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be proficient with computer programs such as MS Office, and various ERP systems.
- Basic math skills required
- At least one year of warehouse and/or powered induction truck experience required
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent work ethic
- Good communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 75lbs.
- Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time in wet and cold environment.
