Job Description

Location: Seattle, WA
Territory: Washington State, with occasional travel to Idaho
Schedule: Monday-Friday schedule; occasional weekend or after-hours support may be required based on customer or business needs. Weekend work is not normally required but may occur in rare or special circumstances.
Pay: $32-$36/hour + overtime + commission incentive
Relocation: Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates relocating to Seattle, WA



We are seeking an experienced Field Service Cushioning TSR Role/Field Service Technician to support customers throughout Washington State, with occasional travel to Idaho.


This is a customer-facing field service role focused on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated packaging and cushioning equipment at customer locations. The position combines mechanical, electrical, automation, and industrial maintenance skills with strong customer service and communication abilities.


This role is primarily Field-based, with no regular office work. Overnight travel is required occasionally but is not expected every week. Travel to Idaho is typically limited to approximately once a month or every other month, depending on business needs. Occasional air travel may also be required for training or other business needs.



What You'll Do
* Install, commission, and test automated packaging systems
* Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic, and automation issues
* Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs
* Train customers on equipment operation and maintenance
* Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation
* Collaborate with Engineering, Technical Support, and Sales teams
* Identify opportunities for service agreements, upgrades, and replacement parts
* Follow OSHA and company safety standards

Qualifications

* Associate degree in Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
* 3+ years of experience in field service, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or automation



Technical Skills
Experience with one or more of the following:
* Field service and industrial maintenance
* PLC troubleshooting and industrial controls
* Electrical and mechanical repair
* Robotics and industrial automation
* Packaging machinery and automated equipment
* Conveyor systems
* HMI, VFDs, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
* Machine installation and commissioning
* Preventive maintenance
* Root cause analysis
* Electrical schematics and technical documentation



Preferred Experience
Experience servicing automated packaging systems, industrial machinery, manufacturing or production equipment, conveyor systems, robotics, or material handling equipment.
Experience in manufacturing, automation, packaging, food and beverage, warehousing, distribution, or logistics is a plus.



Preferred Certifications
OSHA, PLC training (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi), Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technician, Automation, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, CMRT, or CMRP certifications are preferred but not required.

Because this is a customer-facing position, strong interpersonal and communication skills are important.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Sales or account management experience is a plus
  • Experience discussing service agreements, upgrades, replacement parts, or other customer solutions is preferred
  • Comfortable identifying opportunities to support account growth and customer satisfaction



Travel & Requirements



  • Travel throughout Washington State
  • Occasional travel to Idaho, generally approximately once a month or every other month
  • Overnight travel may be required periodically, but is not expected every week
  • Occasional air travel may be required for training or other business needs
  • Weekend or after-hours support may occasionally be needed in special circumstances, but this is rare
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Ability to obtain or possess a valid U.S. passport
