Security Assistant Project Manager
Round Rock, TX (North Austin)
Schedule/Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM; in-office as needed approximately 2 days per week
Pay: $85,000-$105,000 annually

Job Summary

The Security Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial physical security projects throughout the Austin area. This role manages multiple small projects simultaneously, oversees schedules and budgets, coordinates field resources, and helps ensure projects are completed efficiently and within established financial targets. The position will oversee approximately $3-$5 million in projects annually, typically managing 10-20 projects at a time valued up to $100,000 each. The ideal candidate has commercial physical security experience, a background in service-oriented project environments, and experience leading field technicians.

Job Responsibilities




  • Manage approximately 10-20 commercial physical security projects simultaneously, with individual project values of up to $100,000.



  • Support an annual project portfolio of approximately $3-$5 million.



  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, budgets, resources, and priorities.



  • Coordinate service and project activities to ensure work is completed according to scope, schedule, and budget requirements.



  • Lead and coordinate a team of approximately 2-4 technicians.



  • Assign work and monitor technician schedules to support project deadlines and customer requirements.



  • Track project costs, progress, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.



  • Identify scheduling, budget, resource, or project risks and assist with developing appropriate resolutions.



  • Coordinate materials, equipment, labor, and other resources required for project execution.



  • Maintain clear communication with internal teams, field personnel, and project stakeholders.



  • Support project documentation, reporting, closeout activities, and other administrative requirements.



  • Travel locally to project sites throughout the Austin area as required.




Job Requirements




  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial physical security experience required.



  • Proven experience managing project schedules and budgets.



  • Experience working in a service management or service-oriented project environment preferred.



  • Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.



  • Experience leading or coordinating field technicians.



  • Knowledge of access control, video surveillance, and related commercial physical security systems.



  • Familiarity with Lenel, AMAG, AXIS, and Genetec products is strongly preferred.



  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.



  • Ability to monitor project financial performance and maintain accurate project documentation.



  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.



  • Ability to travel locally to project sites throughout the Austin area.
