Education Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Construction equipment certifications or safety training are a plus.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.


Experience Requirements



  • Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator, Excavator Operator, Dozer Operator, Skid Steer Operator, or Construction Equipment Operator.
  • Proven ability to safely operate excavators, dozers, skid steers, and other heavy construction equipment.
  • Experience with excavation, grading, site preparation, backfilling, compaction, and dirt work.
  • Knowledge of equipment safety procedures, inspections, and basic equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to follow site plans, grade stakes, and directions from supervisors.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in commercial or industrial construction environments.
  • Background in foundation work, concrete site preparation, and earthmoving operations.
  • Experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work around active construction crews, subcontractors, and job-site traffic.
  • Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist with general construction tasks when needed.


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to climb in and out of heavy equipment throughout the workday.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and work on uneven terrain.
  • Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, carrying, shoveling, and site cleanup.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools as needed.


Job Duties



  • Operate excavators, dozers, skid steers, and other heavy equipment on commercial and industrial construction projects.
  • Perform excavation, grading, site preparation, backfilling, cleanup, and material movement activities.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Work safely around employees, structures, utilities, and other equipment.
  • Load, unload, move, and stage construction materials as needed.
  • Support foundation, concrete, and general construction activities.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Assist with job-site cleanup and general labor tasks when equipment operation is not required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to help the crew complete projects safely and efficiently.
