Front Desk Coordinator

Position Summary

The Front Desk Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for customers, visitors, and partners entering the SC Works Center. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service, directing customers to appropriate services and staff, assisting with center operations, and supporting communication efforts through social media and other outreach activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service & Reception

• Greet customers, visitors, and guests in a professional and welcoming manner upon arrival.
• Serve as the primary point of contact at the front desk and ensure a positive customer experience.
• Respond to customer questions and direct individuals to the appropriate staff member, program, agency, or community resource.
• Provide accurate information regarding employment services, WIOA services, and partner programs available through the local SC Works system.
• Provide customers with an overview of available resource room services, employment opportunities, workshops, and career services.

Customer Assistance

• Assist customers with utilizing the SC Works Greeter Kiosk and other customer intake processes.
• Help customers navigate basic services and resources available within the center.
• Ensure customers are connected to the appropriate services in a timely manner.

Administrative Support

• Answer incoming telephone calls and transfer calls to the appropriate staff members.
• Maintain a professional and organized reception area.
• Assist with communicating office closures, schedule changes, and other important announcements within the office.

Communication & Outreach

• Assist with maintaining office closure information and updates on social media platforms and other communication channels.
• Support the development and posting of content on social media to promote center services, workshops, hiring events, and community resources.
• Assist with outreach efforts to increase awareness of SC Works services and programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with computers, office software, and basic social media platforms.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Knowledge of workforce development services and community resources preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service, reception, administrative support, or related experience
• Experience working with the public and providing information and referrals
• Experience with social media platforms and basic office technology including Microsoft Office
