Position Title: Customer Service Dispatcher
Wage: $19.23-$24.00 per hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am-5:00pm (Mon-Fri) QPS Employment Group has a great Customer Service Dispatcher position available at a company in Mount Pleasant, IA. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire. Customer Service Dispatcher Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned drivers and customers. - Maintain regular communication with drivers to monitor load progress and resolve operational issues. - Provide shipment updates and status reports to customers. - Address customer inquiries and service concerns promptly and professionally. - Develop and maintain strong working relationships with drivers to support retention and operational success. - Ensure drivers and customers receive timely responses and support. - Coordinate daily load planning and collaborate with team members to ensure complete freight coverage. - Monitor shipment activity and track loads from pickup through delivery. - Secure reloads in advance whenever possible to minimize driver downtime. - Verify drivers are following assigned routes and dispatch instructions. - Maintain awareness of shipment status and proactively communicate issues or delays. - Support the efficient movement of freight and effective utilization of company assets. - Maintain accurate and current information in the dispatch system. - Complete and audit all dispatch documentation and operational records daily. - Ensure production schedules, work assignments, and shipment information are accurately documented. - Track load milestones and maintain visibility throughout the transportation process. - Utilize dispatch, transportation, and customer management systems effectively. - Support compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies. - Monitor Hours of Service (HOS) utilization and electronic logs. - Assist with coaching drivers regarding safety and compliance expectations. - Monitor fuel card usage, toll expenses, and operational expenditures. - Document incidents, operational concerns, and policy violations. - Maintain required compliance and operational records. - Coordinate permits for over-dimensional and overweight loads. - Ensure permits are obtained in advance to prevent shipment delays. - Assist with planning and coordination of specialized freight movements. - Assist with customer relationship development and retention efforts. - Support brokerage growth initiatives and customer expansion opportunities. - Work with prospective customers and drivers to support company growth. - Document workflows, procedures, and best practices to support operational continuity. - Collaborate with team members to improve efficiency and service levels. Customer Service Dispatcher Requirements: - Previous dispatch, transportation, logistics, customer service, or freight brokerage experience preferred. - Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. - Knowledge of transportation operations and dispatch procedures preferred. - Understanding of DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirements preferred. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. - Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation or dispatch software. - Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. - Ability to work independently while maintaining frequent communication with team members. - Reliable attendance and professional accountability.
