  • Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.

Responsibilities

  • The director is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care Department.
  • This includes, but is not limited to, developing and implementing strategic and operational plans, measuring outcomes, and creating an environment of associate engagement and continuous improvement.
  • The Spiritual and Pastoral Care Director is responsible for the provision of chaplaincy and pastoral care, ministering to the spiritual, emotional, psychosocial, and cultural needs of patients, families, and associates.
  • The director is responsible for developing working relationships with the faith communities of Harker Heights to ensure that clergy of all faiths can participate in the healing ministry.
  • As a Catholic healthcare ministry, this position will coordinate the provision of sacramental services for Catholic patients with local Roman Catholic clergy.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Masters Degree in Divinity, Theology, Pastoral care, or related religious studies
  • Completion of four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education
  • Ecclesiastical Endorsement and Board Certification as a Chaplain
  • Certification by NACC orAPC
  • 3 yearsexperience as a Chaplain
  • Acute Care Hospital setting
  • Actively involved in faith community

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • 5 yearsexperience as a Chaplain
  • Previous experience in the management and education of chaplains, volunteers and students
