JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for repetitive and ad hoc duties to support the Accounting organization in all phases of the Accounting cycles.

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:


  • BBA/BS in Accounting required.
  • CPA preferred, but not required
  • MBA/MS and/or professional certification or path a plus.


JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE:


  • Four+ years in the role with solid, stable track record of successful and proven experience in a service provider industry business with total annual revenues of at least $100 million required.


JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:


  • Accounting software and processes experience.
  • Prior health care industry and multi-location, multi-state service provider experience preferred.
  • Advanced analytical and data mining abilities.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge including controls, principles and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, organizational, and detail orientation skills
  • Strong technology skills including MS-Office suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Advanced to expert MS-Excel skills including macros, lookups, pivot tables and advanced functions
  • Priority-, checklist- and deadline-driven with strong self-motivation, work ethic and determination and win-win, whatever-it-takes positive attitude traits


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Perform month-end financial statement review with regional directors of operations for reasonableness and comparison to financial metric benchmarks.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable GAAP accounting policies.
  • Preparing monthly journal entries, variance analysis, monitor month-end close.
  • Reviewing general ledger accounts and determining, posting and correcting journal entries.
  • Performing account analysis and reconciliations.
  • Completing assigned period close responsibilities and assisting other team members as appropriate.
  • Posting monthly, quarterly and yearly accruals and deferrals.
  • Identifying opportunities to automate manual processes, reduce costs and to improve and streamline processes for greater efficiency and cost savings.
  • Providing external audit, annual budgeting and periodic forecasting support.
  • Ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned.
