Sunbelt Rentals-the fastest-growing rental business in North America-is seeking a Yard Worker for our Trench Safety division.

The Yard Associate is responsible for stationing, retrieving, and preparing specialized trench shoring and shielding equipment on the location's property. This role maintains written maintenance schedules and performs hands-on maintenance, including routine preventative maintenance (PMs) and replacing components on Earth Moving Vehicles (EMVs). The Yard Associate also operates equipment like plasma cutters for metal fabrication and modification, while inspecting all equipment prior to and after rental to document condition.

Education or experience that prepares you for success:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience operating plasma cutters and metal cutting/fabrication tools preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and experience performing PMs or replacing parts on industrial equipment or EMVs preferred
• Experience with common construction tools, heavy equipment, or trench shoring products preferred

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities you may rely on:

• Ability to operate plasma cutting tools safely and efficiently
• Basic mechanical skills to perform equipment PMs and swap out parts
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members (written and oral)
• Ability to perform basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
• Strong safety focus and adherence to PPE and shop safety protocols
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs

The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors in various weather conditions.
