Apparel Color Designer | 6-Month Contract | Beaverton, OR

We're looking for an experienced Apparel Color Designer to join the Color Design team of a leading global consumer brand on a 6-month contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, strategic color expert who can translate trends, consumer insights, and creative concepts into compelling color direction for apparel.

What You'll Do:

• Develop strategic color direction and build thoughtful, market-relevant color palettes
• Apply color across apparel products and bring seasonal concepts to life
• Create compelling color stories and visual narratives
• Develop mood boards and presentation materials to communicate creative concepts
• Present color concepts and confidently articulate the thinking behind your work
• Collaborate with designers and cross-functional partners in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment
• Stay closely connected to fashion, consumer, cultural, and marketplace trends

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of professional experience in apparel color design
• Strong expertise in color strategy, palette development, and color application
• A portfolio showcasing color storytelling, mood boards, and a variety of apparel experiences
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities
• Bachelor's degree in design, fashion, textiles, or a related field - or equivalent experience

Nice to Have:

• Experience with outdoor, streetwear, performance, activewear, or technical apparel
• Experience balancing fashionable aesthetics with functional/utilitarian product needs
• Background working with a major global or Fortune 500 brand
• Experience in entrepreneurial or startup-like environments
• Strong understanding of fashion, color, and marketplace trends
