Here's what you can expect as a Paralegal II with the Commercial Litigation team ("COLT") at DaVita: DaVita's in-house legal team is known as the "Justice League of DaVita," or "JLD." The JLD is comprised of over 250 attorneys, paralegals, and professionals around the globe. The JLD values analytical rigor, commitment to professional development, and a passion for excellence. A Paralegal II will be a member of a litigation team comprised of attorneys, paralegals, and legal professionals. More specifically, the Paralegal II will primarily support the COLT team in commercial litigation and arbitration matters - including health insurance payor, vendor, real estate, and other business disputes across the country. The Paralegal II will also work collaboratively with other legal and business teams and manage special projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Collaborating with COLT attorneys on pre-litigation and active litigation matters, including matter intake, triage, and progress tracking * Independently interfacing with outside counsel and business teams to drive matters forward * Maintaining matter files, including matter data, and document organization and filing * Managing document collection and production, including partnering with and overseeing e-discovery when needed * Preparing and managing legal holds * Managing internal team policies and practices, matter metrics and goals, including drafting slide decks and visual dashboards for leadership and presenting on the same * Establishing a collaborative working relationship with members of COLT, the broader legal team, and business clients * Developing and executing various special assignments, including presentations * Recognizing, evaluating, and participating in process improvements and establishment of best demonstrated practices for COLT and other legal and business teams * Being an active participant in the culture of the JLD and JLD committees Our ideal candidate possesses (Qualifications): * Associate's degree (required) * Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program (preferred) * 4-8 years of general litigation paralegal experience * Ability to proactively and independently manage workload and operate in support of team needs * A collaborative team player who embraces our core value of "Fun"
