Overview
BigBear.ai is seeking a ConductorOS Engineer to support ongoing ConductorOS customer deployments. This position will be remote. This role is designed for a developer who wants to tackle the complex challenges of multi-domain command-and-control, edge computing, and real-time AI integration. The responsibilities include working as part of an agile team to deliver new capabilities while ensuring high performance and responsiveness to our clients, and collaborating with our partners. This position will require some travel for delivery and participation in multi-domain experiments and exercises.
What you will do
- Feature Development: Design, develop, and maintain core services within ConductorOS, focusing on scalability, interoperability, and low-latency performance in disconnected or contested environments
- Systems Integration: Build and refine common control interfaces and APIs that enable ConductorOS to communicate with a wide variety of third-party autonomous platforms and sensor suites
- Field-Driven Iteration: Work closely with the Product Delivery team to ingest field-derived requirements and "lessons learned" from operational environments, rapidly translating them into robust software features
- Architectural Excellence: Contribute to the evolution of the ConductorOS architecture, ensuring it remains resilient, modular, and capable of supporting complex AI-driven orchestration
- Collaborative Engineering: Participate in rigorous code reviews and collaborate across the "Conductor Delivery and Tech" teams to ensure seamless integration between the core product and specialized delivery requirements
What you need to have
- A Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field with applicable experience is required. Applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Excellent foundation in computer science, algorithms, and web services design
- Experience writing highly secure serverless cloud-based applications that leverage an Infrastructure as Code approach using AWS core technologies: Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Cognito, CloudWatch, etc...
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes and Docker containerization platforms.
- Professional experience in designing RESTful APIs and business logic using various programming languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python
- Experience with front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Familiar with system monitoring and observability tools and design.
- Quick problem-solving skills with exceptional aptitude and reasoning
- Familiar with user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
- The ability to obtain and maintain government clearance
- This role will require some travel, 25-50% but closer to 25%
What we'd like you to have

- Proven work experience of 5-9 years in a similar or related field
