Day & Zimmermann is seeking a Remote Manager, Commercial, MC for Day & Zimmermann Maintenance and Construction (DZMC) in Charlotte, NC.

The Manager, Commercial, MC will be Responsible for managing customer correspondence and contract change order documents across multiple projects. Collaborate with the Site Project Team to identify, evaluate, and quantify change orders. Coordinate all contract documents, cost estimates and risk issues. Participate on proposal teams, identify risk and risk mitigations, contribute expertise and strategic input. Serve as a subject matter expert with the ability to develop and deliver effective training presentations.

As a Manager, Commercial, MC here is the work you will do:


  • Manage and coordinate Client correspondence and change management documents across multiple projects, including drafting change notices, client correspondence and leading project team discussions.
  • Review contract documents and provide Project Team training, expert validation of Requests for Change, identifying risks and opportunities across projects.
  • Facilitate and lead negotiation meetings, develop strategic exhibits and presentations, and prepare comprehensive summaries and Contract Change Order documentation.
  • Maintain and analyze Change Management Logs. Lead project risk and contingency discussions, ensuring timely and accurate documentation and response coordination.
  • Lead development of Independent Cost Estimates. Manage deliverables and ensure alignment across subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Oversee and respond to complex construction-related correspondence. Lead review of project pricing and risk items in collaboration with field and estimating teams.


This role is for you if you have these skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or applicable experience
  • 5+ years relevant experience in Commercial Management
  • This position requires Travel to Project Sites and Corporate Offices
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate across teams and functions.
  • Capable of clearly communicating technical, financial, and contractual information to internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, including through presentations.
  • Working knowledge of the Power and Industrial markets, with growing experience supporting business development efforts in Maintenance, Project Modifications, and specialty services such as Valve Services, QC, I&C, P&T Staffing, and Radiation Protection.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to the demands of a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to team objectives and cross-functional collaboration.


In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $110,000 - $165,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of union fringes).
