Description

OVERVIEW:

To prepare and cook each day's meals under the direction of the Center Director/Program Chef in a high-volume institutional kitchen environment in the VFW San Joaquin Hall Kitchen.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Prepare and cook each days menu for up to 3 meals per day
  • Resposible for keeping work station clean and sanitized
  • Adhere to niform requirements and food service cleanliness
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining all kitchen tools and eqipment
  • Respond to daily assignments for the Food Service Manager/Head Chef
  • Shop for food items as directed and needed
  • Assist in drought response effors as needed
  • Assist in translation as needed
  • Data entry for Well Sky, USDA reporting and Donation Reporting
  • All other duties as assigned



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • HACCP Food Handling Certification



SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or cometimes continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push and pull objects such as files,s file cabinest drawers, and reach overhead



EQUIPMENT USED:



  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually supplies boxes)
  • Labor intensive jobs should have more here
