OVERVIEW:

The Resident Service Coordinator reports to the Housing Program Manager and provides case management services for program participants. This role conducts participant assessments and intake, facilitates program meetings, and supports homeless families as they transition from homelessness to independent living.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for recruitment of housing program participants
  • Develop and implement case plans that meet program and organizational standards
  • Provide weekly case management for Emergency Shelter participants and biweekly support for Transitional Housing participants
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date participant files, referrals, and case notes
  • Monitor participant progress toward case plan goals and compliance with program requirements and guidelines
  • Maintain participant confidentiality and accurate records in HMIS & program databases
  • Maintain waitlists for Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing programs
  • Enforce program policies and disciplinary procedures, including documentation and terminations with Director approval
  • Conduct unit inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and program compliance
  • Facilitate shelter meetings and assist with workshops and housing meetings as needed
  • Participate in Housing Committee meetings
  • Assist with participant events, including Family Nights and holiday celebrations
  • Work with community agencies and attend partner meetings as needed
  • Assist with collecting, tracking, and reporting monthly program statistics
  • Provide regular program updates to management and Corps Officers
  • Conduct urine analysis testing when required
  • Provide follow-up support to former participants for 9 to 12 months and assist with alumni activities
  • Assist with scheduling and supervising volunteers and interns
  • Support program operations in the absence of the Program Assistant or Housing Manager
  • Respond to participant case management emergencies as needed
  • Serve on-call for housing program emergencies one weekend each month
  • Provide transportation for participants using Salvation Army vehicles as needed
  • Other related duties as required


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences or equivalent (required)
  • CA Driver's license (required)
  • Experience with social service agencies and providers

  • Must be able to live on-site (required)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage challenging situations with professionalism, compassion, and sound judgment
  • Strong organizational, time management, and independent work skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs

  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes)
