General Job Description Position Overview The BIM Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes throughout the design, construction, and project delivery phases. This position ensures the accuracy, quality, and integration of digital models while supporting collaboration among project teams, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders. Primary Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and manage BIM models for construction and design projects. Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) models to identify and resolve conflicts and clashes. Conduct model reviews and perform clash detection using Revit, Navisworks, and other applicable BIM software. Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely model development and updates. Support the implementation and maintenance of BIM standards, workflows, and quality control procedures. Generate construction drawings, schedules, reports, quantities, and other project information from BIM models. Support project planning, visualization, coordination, and construction sequencing activities. Maintain BIM documentation and ensure models comply with company, project, and client requirements. Provide BIM-related technical support and training to project team members as needed. Participate in project and coordination meetings and communicate BIM-related updates, conflicts, and resolutions to appropriate stakeholders. Coordinate with internal departments, subcontractors, consultants, clients, and other project stakeholders as required. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Education None Minimum Years of Experience 4-6 Specific Qualifications Required Skills and Abilities Proficient in Autodesk Revit and Navisworks. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or related BIM and collaboration software. Strong understanding of BIM processes, construction methods, design coordination, and industry standards. Knowledge of clash detection, model coordination, model management, and data exchange processes. Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams. Able to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Ability to pass pre-employment screenings such as background and motor vehicle record checks. English speaking, reading, and writing preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties. Education/Experience 3+ years of BIM coordination or related experience in architecture, engineering, or construction preferred. Construction industry experience strongly preferred. Associate or bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. Experience with cloud-based BIM and project collaboration platforms preferred. Familiarity with VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) practices are preferred. Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred and required where necessary to perform job duties. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Ability to perform motions including typing and operating computer-based design and modeling software. Work in a typical office environment, sitting at a desk and performing prolonged computer work, with occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Ability to visit active construction sites and navigate project environments as required. Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet project needs. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures. Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require. Communicate in person, by phone, and electronically, including on a tablet, smartphone, and other office technology. Travel as required to support project and operational needs. Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position. Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 25 pounds.
