Job Description

The Timekeeper is responsible for accurately collecting, reviewing, and processing employee time records for field and office personnel. This position ensures labor hours are entered correctly, supports payroll processing, maintains workforce data, and serves as a liaison between employees, supervisors, Payroll, and Human Resources. The Timekeeper plays a critical role in ensuring accurate labor reporting, job cost tracking, and timely payroll administration.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Collect, review, and process employee timesheets and labor hours on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Verify time entries for accuracy, proper job coding, cost codes, overtime, and payroll compliance.
  • Communicate with field supervisors and project managers regarding missing or inaccurate time records.
  • Enter and maintain employee labor data within payroll and workforce management systems.
  • Assist with weekly payroll processing and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including job assignments, labor classifications, and project allocations.
  • Generate labor reports and provide workforce data to project teams, accounting, and management.
  • Support job cost tracking by ensuring labor hours are coded to the correct project and phase.
  • Audit payroll records and timesheets to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable labor regulations.
  • Assist with onboarding administrative tasks, employee roster updates, and workforce reporting.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding hours worked, pay, and payroll-related matters.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all payroll and employee information.


Pay Range: $20/hour
Basic Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of administrative, payroll, accounting, or timekeeping experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work with deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential employee information professionally.
  • Basic understanding of payroll practices, labor reporting, and timekeeping processes preferred.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with payroll, HRIS, or workforce management systems (Dayforce, UKG, ADP, etc.).
  • Construction industry experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple projects and field teams simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of job costing, labor allocations, and overtime regulations.
