Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead by example by following Rapak's Code of Conduct, Safety, Hygiene and SQF Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure all team members work in accordance with safe practices and GMP's.
  • Ensure worker rotations are completed to prevent ergonomic injuries. Lead all pre-shift safety topics and stretching programs while ensuring employee participation.
  • Adhere to and maintain company standards for 5S and cleanliness within assigned department.
  • Ensure and/or provide training to new employees.
  • Partner with Production leadership, Maintenance, QC and Warehouse to reduce/eliminate downtime.
  • Align and obtain required resources (people, tools, materials) to meet daily production targets and KPI's. Work proactively to ensure that potential problems are addressed before production is impaired.
  • Coordinate with resources (Maintenance, Machine Operators, Packers, Warehouse, and QC) to maximize equipment uptime. Notify Supervisor of unscheduled downtime, or idle equipment that does not have resources assigned to bring back online.
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians with Preventative Maintenance activities.
  • Inspect product to ensure the highest quality and foster a "right the first time" attitude. Work closely and in collaboration with QC Inspectors to prevent customer defects.
  • Report daily performance, training issues, potential material shortages, maintenance requirements, quality, and productivity, etc.
  • Ensure finished product jobs are completed with 100% accuracy. Complete appropriate scrap transactions for all production jobs.
  • Communicate with Shift Leads to ensure a seamless transition during shift changes; including staffing shortages to avoid machine shutdowns.
  • Monitors attendance, rest break and lunch
  • Leads must foster a team-oriented environment and promote growth across all departments within the company.
  • Ensure that area of responsibility is passed to next shift clean and in compliance with 5S and safety standards.
  • Ensure the integrity and quality management system is maintained when changes are planned and implemented.
  • Ensure processes are delivered to their intended outputs.
  • Support all EHS activities and strictly adhere to all work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Immediately report any unsafe or unhealthy working condition to your supervisor/leadership.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Machine Operator II, Machine Operator III, or relevant production experience may be considered
  • Packing knowledge
  • Communication skills are essential to promote growth and quality in a team-oriented environment
  • Some mechanical aptitude preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Excellent attendance and Overtime are required

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Able to work in a production/warehouse environment standing
throughout the shift: able to tolerate noise and heat. Candidate must be able
to lift 10-50lbs. throughout shift.
