Procurement & Supply Chain Internship - Summer 2027 (Paid)

Procurement/Supply Chain Interns are placed within the Procurement/Supply Chain Department for a 10-week immersion in CSX methods and culture. Individuals complete challenging assignments that improve decision-making and financial performance. Procurement/Supply Chain internships provide an opportunity for candidates to experience what a role in corporate Procurement/Supply Chain looks like, while allowing CSX to actively recruit tomorrow's best talent.

What You'll Experience

  • 10-Week Summer Internship Program: May 24, 2027 - July 30, 2027
  • Location: CSX Headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida (on-site)
  • Housing Support: Eligible interns may receive complimentary housing for the duration of the program. Travel, transportation, and other personal expenses are not provided.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities:

Individuals play a key role in completing identified Procurement/Supply Chain projects such as

  • Cultivate relationships with business partners to analyze marketing, operating, and capital projects to understand economic tradeoffs and help make real-time business decisions.

  • Provide analytical support for operations reviews, resource allocations, and financial valuations.

  • Help guide the development of short- and long-term strategies for supply chain and procurement of resources.

  • Consult and communicate analyses through presentations to senior management in the department and business partners from other departments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Be a rising senior or graduate student enrolled in an accredited college or university, with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in list majors. Preferred majors and areas of study: Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.

  • Be available to work up to 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week program

  • Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills

  • Must be 18 years of age

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5 (based on a 4-point scale)

  • Graduate students actively pursuing a master's degree in a relevant field

  • Previous internship, co-op, part-time, or relevant work experience

  • Demonstrated leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, volunteer activities, or campus involvement

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Academic distinction, proven leadership ability and initiative.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.

  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations to a senior level audience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Job Requirements:

  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership/executive audiences.

  • Work within established deadlines.

  • Willing and able to work days and hours as assigned.

  • Successfully complete a background check and drug test.
