Social Worker (LCSW) - Behavioral Health - Enid, OK

Horizon Health Corporation is seeking a Social Worker (LCSW) for the Behavioral Health Program at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid, OK. This unit is a 15 bed mental health program.In addition to providing direct high quality psychotherapy services to patients in assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, group treatment, individual treatment, family treatment, and discharge planning, the Lead Social Worker also develops and implements programs to meet the social and emotional needs of the patients. The Lead Social Worker effectively participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team and the unit community relations team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements program plans for patient care during treatment and release from the program
  • Establishes strategic social services program goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service and operations information
  • Defines the philosophy, goals and objectives of social services processes and procedures under the direction of hospital administration, Horizon's clinical and operations staff, and in conjunction with the Medical Director
  • Works with divisional and national support staff to ensure that the client hospital realizes maximum value from Horizon services
  • Responsible for managing social services provided to patients and their families
  • Works in partnership with the Program Director, community-based providers, Horizon leadership, client hospital administrative staff and clinical staff to develop and implement programs that promote Unit behavioral health programs within the area/community
  • Plans and evaluates department social service activities, communicating the plans to program stakeholders
  • If applicable, provides leadership to subordinate social workers and therapists
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree required
  • Valid State License in Social Work (LCSW) required
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required
  • LCSW/LMHP preferred but not required.
  • Valid Driver's License and/or ability to commute to work required
  • 5 - 8 years of related experience
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings and workshops. Keeps up to date on professional literature
  • Maintains effectiveness and certification in required patient management protocols
  • Completes and maintains all required state/regulatory, Hospital and Horizon competencies and training/education expectations on a timely basis
  • Knowledgeable of hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards
  • Ability to manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately
  • Fosters sense of teamwork and collaboration within the department and Hospital
  • Ability to make independent clinical judgments
  • Ability to read, comprehend and write moderate to complex instructions and correspondence
  • Thorough knowledge of the scope and activities of local and private health and welfare agencies and community organizations
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and techniques of social work administration.
  • Thorough knowledge of the characteristics and social aspects of mental and emotional disturbances and developmental disability
  • Develops basic knowledge of Hospital and Horizon senior staff and organizational structure
  • Ability to instruct, direct, and evaluate employees
  • Thorough knowledge of the various areas of social work, including group work, community organization, consultation, education, and research
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles of management, including program planning, staffing, and budgeting
  • If applicable, may serve as Director of Social Services for DPU
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • If applicable, may serve as IOP Administrator
  • Ability to manage stress appropriately and channels concerns appropriately
  • Thorough knowledge of mental hospital administration, particularly as related to the integration of social work programs with other programs
