Assignments are on-call basis $120 for Half Day, $215 for Full Day, $280 for Full Day long term assignment Review timeline:
On going basis Application Window Open date: August 27, 2026 Next review date: Monday, Aug 31, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Thursday, Dec 31, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description At UCLA Lab School, the Substitute Teacher's primary responsibility is to maintain continuity and uphold the quality of instruction. This position serves as an English Language Substitute Teacher or Dual Language Substitute to provide instructional support while ensuring a consistent and engaging learning environment for students. The primary goal of this position is to effectively implement the lesson plans and instructional activities prepared by the classroom Demonstration Teacher, maintain established classroom routines, and support student learning during the teacher's absence. Qualifications Basic qualifications
Minimum BA degree or equivalent. Experience working in a classroom setting Demonstrated experience working with children in a pre-K-6 educational environment. Ability to work and speak to people of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds to welcome and establish good working relationships with staff, parents and children. Ability to apply teaching theory and approaches to relevant classroom teaching. Skill to make learning aids which will strengthen lesson plans. Ability to supervise teaching assistants and students interns and instruct them in how to best support children in learning activities. Working knowledge of the core subjects at the grade level to which employment assignment is made in a pre-K to 6 grade environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work as a team player with colleagues and administrators. Ability to work independently and efficiently, exercising reasonable judgement, in a multi-task environment with minimal supervision. Proficient computer knowledge and previous experience with Mac OS software. Demonstrated experience working with children who have special educational and behavioral needs is preferred but not required. Fluent in Spanish Experience teaching in a dual language program preferred, but not required. Multiple Subject Teaching Credential Preferred, but not required.
