Primary Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:

  • Review and respond to customer inquiries received by phone, email, or Customer Relationship Management software.
  • Communicate requests for cost estimates on non-standard products.
  • Check stock, provide pricing and delivery information on orders or potential orders.
  • Check order status or expedite orders with Production, Supply Chain or Shipping Departments.
  • Prepare and enter purchase orders; provide such information as customer code, pricing, quantity, part number, order acknowledgments etc. Manage orders and material releases received by Electronic Data Interchange.
  • Clarify policies and procedures such as condition of sale and pricing structure.
  • Prepare and submit request for returned good authorization.
  • Provide technical information to distributors which appear in our catalogs or as advised by engineering, product managers, and/or technical services.
  • Collaborate with the Pricing Department with customer quote requests and maintain supporting documentation such as cost estimating print-offs, customer drawings and specifications, and divisional drawings and specifications.
  • Participate in problem solving and process improvement teams
  • Investigate and approve or deny requests for credit as forwarded by the Accounts Receivable Dept.

Secondary Responsibilities/Non-Essential Job Functions:

  • Acknowledge customer orders upon request.
  • Assist outside sales personnel.
  • Sample requests.
  • Quotes on non-standards.
  • Clarification of policies and procedures.
  • Participate in weekly update and problem-solving meetings.
  • Any other similar or associated duties necessary to accomplish job objectives, or as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (relevant experience, education and/or training):

  • High school education or GED required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Two to four years customer service experience.
