When you're the best, we're the best. We instill an environment where employees feel engaged, satisfied and able to contribute their unique skills and talents while living and working as their authentic selves. We provide extensive opportunities for personal and professional development, building both employee competence and organizational capability to fuel exceptional performance through an inclusive environment both now and in the future.

Summary:

In this role, you will lead the architecture, engineering, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise intelligent automation solutions across Vizient. You will establish scalable engineering practices that combine Power Platform, UiPath, APIs, cloud services, software engineering, and emerging AI capabilities to solve business problems with the right automation approach. You will partner closely with business, architecture, security, infrastructure, quality engineering, and delivery teams to build secure, reusable, production-grade automation capabilities and reduce dependence on isolated or one-off solutions. This role combines deep technology leadership, automation architecture, engineering standards, delivery oversight, and people leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture and engineering of enterprise intelligent automation solutions using Power Platform, UiPath, APIs, cloud services, integration patterns, and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Determine the appropriate solution pattern for each use case, including workflow, low-code, RPA, API integration, orchestration, AI-assisted automation, or combinations of these approaches.
  • Establish technical standards for solution design, coding, integration, security, deployment, observability, supportability, and reuse.
  • Provide technical oversight across design, build, testing, deployment, monitoring, optimization, and production support.
  • Build reusable automation components, connectors, templates, frameworks, libraries, and implementation patterns that accelerate delivery across Vizient.
  • Drive modern software engineering practices, including source control, automated testing, CI/CD, environment management, telemetry, and engineering documentation.
  • Reduce unnecessary platform-specific customization by promoting API-first, reusable, and maintainable engineering patterns.
  • Advance the team from traditional RPA toward intelligent automation using deterministic workflows, APIs, low-code platforms, AI models, agents, orchestration, and human-in-the-loop patterns.
  • Evaluate emerging automation and AI technologies and recommend when to adopt, standardize, integrate, or retire capabilities.
  • Partner with architecture, security, infrastructure, quality engineering, delivery, and platform teams to ensure solutions are feasible, secure, scalable, production-ready, and sustainable.
  • Support technical risk management, complex issue resolution, vendor evaluations, build-versus-buy decisions, and alignment with architecture, privacy, compliance, AI governance, and quality requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop automation engineers and technical leads; serve as the technical escalation point and communicate architecture decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to technical and leadership stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • 10 or more years of experience across software engineering, enterprise integration, automation engineering, platform engineering, or related technology functions required.
  • 4 or more years leading engineering teams, architecture functions, or large-scale technology initiatives required.
  • Strong hands-on background with Power Platform and/or UiPath, combined with broader software engineering and enterprise integration experience required.
  • Experience with APIs, cloud services, identity and security patterns, databases, source control, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability required.
  • Demonstrated ability to architect enterprise solutions beyond traditional RPA, including API-driven, event-driven, low-code, orchestration, and AI-enabled patterns required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder-management, and cross-functional collaboration skills required.
  • Experience operating in healthcare or another regulated environment preferred.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Dataverse, custom connectors, and enterprise integration services preferred.
  • Experience with C#, Python, or another modern programming language preferred.
  • Experience integrating LLMs, AI agents, agentic workflows, or intelligent document and process capabilities into enterprise automation preferred.
  • Experience developing reusable automation frameworks, shared services, engineering accelerators, and platform standards preferred.
  • Experience with DevOps, observability, production support, and reliability engineering practices preferred.
  • Experience supporting greenfield automation organizations or enterprise transformation initiatives preferred.
