The Quality Assurance organization provides a variety of services aimed at helping its internal customers, S&C leaders and team members, deliver superior quality to our customers. Quality planning, inspection, audit, quality information, quality improvement consulting, and quality communications are examples of the kind of services that the organization provides. The calibration laboratory provides the highest accurate measurements within the electrical laboratory, which meet the National Conference of Standards Laboratories (NCSL) and International Standards of Organization (ISO-9001:2015 and ISO-17025). In this job you will be responsible for calibration mechanical measuring equipment and managing the calibration process, which includes around 12,000 instruments. The calibration laboratory daily operations are to enter all incoming & outgoing instruments in the asset management system, perform a performance test on all instrumentation and record the data. Additional calibration laboratory responsibilities are to investigate the purchase of new equipment, perform gage R&R, and work with engineering on the correct equipment to purchase. At times, you will have to work with suppliers to obtain an RMA number so equipment may be repaired or sent out for calibration. The job will also require strong communication skills (Verbal & Written), a high level of software aptitude, technical knowledge, and an organized workflow. When an instrument is out of tolerance, a notice has to be sent out to the owner of the instrument so an investigation can take place. On a regular basis, you will have to send out weekly reminder notices to a variety of team members throughout the organization that equipment is due for calibration. In addition, a monthly report is generated, which is sent to upper level leadership. Since calibrating equipment will be done following procedures, it is a requirement that lab team members will ensure the procedures are updated and entered into the database. Relevant work experience: 4 years calibration experience or equivalent mechanical experience (ie Machinist, mechanical technologist, Q.A. experience). MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS
