The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in the Pediatric Specialty Clinic functions as an assistant in the examination and treatment of patients under Physician/Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner supervision in the ambulatory service clinical setting.



The Pediatric Specialty Clinic CMA provides care and treatment to pediatric and young adults from birth to 22 years of age. We support the care of 19 different subspecialties including pulmonology, genetics, hematology, gastroenterology, and several surgical specialties as well. The CMAs responsibilities include patient intake, medication review, patient rooming, medication and vaccine administration, point of care testing, phlebotomy, and chaperoning for sensitive exams.



Shifts: 8 hour shifts Monday-Friday; no weekends



Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program required
  • Completion of CMA certification with the credentials of RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CCMA or CMAA required prior to hire
  • Valid CPR certification required upon hire
  • Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of CMA experience
