| Position Description: |
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is accepting applications for a fulltime faculty member as a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon in our General Obstetrics and Gynecology Division. This position will be either a tenure track or clinical track faculty position based on qualifications and academic rank will be commensurate with experience. Responsibilities will include participation in the clinical and educational activities of the division including our fellowship. Applicants must be committed to medical student and resident education and clinical care of patients (including the full depth and breadth of basic and complex benign gynecologic conditions) in the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Iowa Health Care and our off-site outreach clinics. Opportunities exist for developing specialized clinical services. Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.

| Education Requirement: |
Successful applicants must possess an M.D. Degree or equivalent. This position requires completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in obstetrics and gynecology. The successful candidate will have completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, be board certified/board eligible, have a demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care and have an interest in teaching. |
| Required Qualifications: |
Excellent clinical skills including contemporary surgical skills, excellent skills in patient management, strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrated teaching skills, and demonstrated team behavior. Travel to off-site outpatient clinic locations is required. Applicants are required to be active candidates or board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Clinical or laboratory research is required for appointment to the tenure track. The applicant will be required to have licensure eligibility by the Iowa Board of Medicine and will be required to be licensed by the Iowa Board of Medicine before commencement of employment. |

| Desirable Qualifications: |
Operative gynecology and a strong teaching record are highly desirable. |
