Job Description

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties at Northwest Bank. These duties include accounts payable tasks, general accounting tasks, posting information, entering and adjusting purchase orders, processing payments, compiling payment information when requested, solving problems, and providing excellent customer service.

Essential Functions
* Process checks and ACH for bill payment when needed
* Find, update, or assign invoices when needed in Workday
* Ensure compliance with third party vendors
* Apply and adjust purchase orders to invoices
* Post items to Accounts
* Research and correct posting errors
* Process adjustments
* Place stops and voids
* Reconcile bank accounts when needed
* Identify and resolve specific account/spend category problems
* Assist with quarterly SOX control requests
* Compile monthly closing information when requested
* Compile segments of annual reports when requested
* Prepare statistics and reports
* Open, sort, distribute and action accounts payable mail

Additional Essential Functions
* Ensure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
* Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
* Work as part of a team
* Work with on-site equipment

* Complete other duties and special projects as assigned by management

Education
Associate's Degree Or equivalent

Work Experience
2 - 3 years Customer Service experienceAnd
2 - 3 years Administrative experience

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Knowledge of accounting systems
* Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
* Knowledge of AFRM system and able to import EIB templates
* Excellent customer service skills
