Valley Health Specialty Hospitalis the first orthopedic surgery and inpatient rehabilitation facility in the Las Vegas area. The Valley Health Specialty Hospital is the first of its kind to offer both specialty orthopedics and inpatient rehab in one location. Job Description: The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a member of the Hospital Executive Team. Responsible for integration, coordination and direction of nursing and patient care within the overall operation of the hospital. Directs nursing and patient care to ensure that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. The CNO participates in the hospital's strategic planning and contributes to the achievement of institutional goals and objectives. Qualifications Education: Requires a minimum of a BSN with Master's degree in business, healthcare administration, public health administration or related field from an accredited college or university, MSN preferred. Experience: Minimum requirements include five to eight years of progressive nursing management experience in an acute care setting. Ten plus years preferred. Technicial Skills: Demonstrated working knowledge nursing clinical practices and management. Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities. Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. License/Certification: Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of employment.
