Title: Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) Analyst
Duration: 6 Months Location: Memphis, TN (Hybrid) The position is a blend of financial analysis, fixed asset accounting, budgeting/forecasting, project reporting, compliance, and business partnership. This role is best suited for someone with: * 1-3+ years of accounting or finance experience * Strong Excel skills * Experience with budgets, reporting, and analysis * Interest in project finance and capital investment management * Knowledge of fixed assets and GAAP accounting Core Responsibilities * Monitoring capital project spending against approved budgets * Preparing weekly and monthly CAPEX reporting * Forecasting project expenditures and cash flow needs * Supporting funding requests and budget adjustments * Managing project closeout documentation * Assisting with fixed asset accounting activities * Supporting SOX controls and compliance requirements * Analyzing and explaining financial results to stakeholders * Partnering with finance, accounting, and operational teams Key Skills That Matter Most: * Advanced Excel * PivotTables * VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP * SUMIFS * Financial modeling * Budget tracking * Accounting fundamentals * Fixed assets * Depreciation * Capitalization rules * GAAP * Forecasting and variance analysis * Financial reporting * Power BI (preferred but not required) Business Skills: * Critical thinking * Problem-solving * Attention to detail * Communication with non-finance stakeholders * Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines * Strong organizational skills | |
