Overview

Join us in shaping the future of product configuration for a global scientific technology company. In this role, you will build and own complex SAP VC models in S/4HANA that power accurate product configuration and quoting through SAP CPQ.

This role goes well beyond master-data maintenance. You will transform complex scientific products and commercial requirements into scalable configuration solutions, solve challenging product-modeling problems, and influence future configuration architecture, standards, and governance.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on SAP configuration professional who learns quickly, executes with quality and speed, and enjoys collaborating across business and technical teams.

Responsibilities

Own the design, development, testing, release, and support of complex SAP VC product configuration models in S/4HANA.

  • Build and maintain characteristics, classes, profiles, object dependencies, constraints, procedures, variant tables, and configurable BOM logic.

  • Translate scientific-product and commercial requirements into scalable, reusable, and maintainable configuration solutions.

  • Partner across Product Management, Commercialization, CPQ, Pricing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and IT to ensure end-to-end readiness.

  • Shape future configuration architecture using SAP VC, CPQ-native configuration, and hybrid approaches.

  • Support strategic initiatives, including subscriptions, bundles, acquired-business integration, and CPQ-native configuration proofs of concept.

  • Optimize configuration models for performance, usability, consistency, and ease of maintenance.

  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and maintain complete configuration, testing, and release documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing complex SAP Variant Configuration models, with strong expertise in classes, characteristics, procedures, preconditions, constraints, variant tables, configurable BOMs, and pricing dependencies.
  • Experience in SAP CPQ or CPQ-native configuration strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of SAP commercial processes and how configuration impacts quoting, order creation, pricing, fulfillment, billing, and customer experience.
  • Ability to learn quickly, execute with urgency and quality, and manage multiple configuration requests in parallel.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical configuration impacts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and disciplined with strong documentation, testing, and release management practices.
