Aquent is partnering with a leading energy infrastructure company dedicated to delivering reliable and essential services. This organization plays a critical role in powering communities and driving progress through significant capital projects and ongoing operational excellence. Join a team that values innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in managing vital resources. Are you a highly organized and proactive professional with a knack for logistics and supply chain management? We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our client's team and make a tangible impact on the success of their large-scale infrastructure projects. In this pivotal role, you will be the single point of accountability for ensuring critical materials and equipment are precisely where they need to be, when they need to be there, directly influencing project timelines and operational continuity. Your expertise will bridge the gap between procurement, engineering, and construction, providing crucial visibility and driving mitigation strategies that keep complex projects on track. About the Role Summary:
* Project Readiness: Serve as the Materials Management owner for project readiness across assigned construction and capital projects, ensuring critical materials and equipment are visible, assigned, tracked, and aligned to project execution milestones.
* Delivery Monitoring: Monitor long-lead and critical-path equipment from order visibility through manufacturing, factory testing, shipment, delivery, staging, and project handoff.
* Stakeholder Coordination: Partner with Construction, Engineering, Procurement, EPC contractors, Owner's Engineers, OEM suppliers, Operations, and project leadership to identify risks early and drive clear mitigation plans.
* Risk Management: Translate material constraints, supplier delays, manufacturing issues, logistics risks, and quality holds into concise project impact statements, action plans, and escalation recommendations.
* Executive Visibility: Provide leadership-ready reporting on project material readiness, critical equipment status, supplier performance, open actions, risk ratings, and recovery plans. Job Responsibilities:
* Serve as the single point of accountability within Materials Management for material readiness across assigned capital projects and critical equipment categories.
* Develop and maintain project-specific material readiness plans aligned to engineering requirements, purchase orders, construction milestones, scheduled need dates, and contractor execution plans.
* Monitor delivery status for long-lead and critical-path equipment including transformers, breakers, switchgear, structures, conductor, cable, controls, and other strategic materials.
* Track supplier commitments, manufacturing milestones, factory testing dates, shipment timing, logistics status, delivery forecasts, and site readiness requirements.
* Identify schedule slippage, manufacturing constraints, quality holds, documentation gaps, logistics issues, and supplier risks before they impact construction execution.
* Coordinate with Procurement, OEMs, EPC contractors, Owner's Engineers, logistics providers, and project teams to secure recovery plans for at-risk materials or equipment.
* Facilitate recurring material readiness reviews with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, EPC partners, Owner's Engineers, Operations, and suppliers as needed.
* Maintain clear action logs that identify open issues, accountable owners, due dates, required decisions, escalation needs, and closure status.
* Develop and maintain reporting that provides visibility to critical equipment status, material constraints, milestone performance, risk ratings, and mitigation actions.
* Partner with Engineering and Operations to evaluate strategic spare utilization, material substitution options, reservation decisions, and project prioritization when conflicts arise.
* Support development of enterprise long-lead equipment visibility, including current commitments, inventory availability, future project demand, readiness risks, and potential gaps.
* Escalate material readiness concerns with clear facts, business impact, options, and requested leadership decisions.
* Document lessons learned from material delivery issues and recommend improvements to forecasting, supplier governance, milestone tracking, inventory readiness, and project support processes.
* Keep informed of industry developments, supplier capacity constraints, manufacturing challenges, and logistics risks that could impact project execution or supply certainty.
* Comply with applicable company, safety, regulatory, supply chain, procurement, and project governance policies and procedures. Skills:
* Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive cross-functional accountability without direct authority.
* Ability to translate detailed supplier and project status information into concise leadership-level summaries and action plans.
* Strong communication, escalation, issue-resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong understanding of project material readiness, expediting, supplier follow-up, delivery monitoring, and inventory coordination.
* Ability to balance urgency, accuracy, business impact, and safety in a high-volume project environment.
* Ability to identify process gaps and recommend improvements to forecasting, reservations, staging, supplier governance, and readiness reporting.
* Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel.
* Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and procurement principles.
* Ability to analyze data and generate reports to support decision-making.
* Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations. Education/Experience:
* Bachelor's degree preferred in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field required.
* Equivalent utility, construction, supply chain, project controls, or materials management experience may be considered where appropriate.
