The Standards Codes Manager will serve as a senior technical contributor and subject matter expert across projects providing technical oversight and applying deep engineering knowledge to address emerging and complex safety science challenges. Leveragingexpertisein engineering and applied science, the Standards Codes Manager will translate scientific insights, research development discoveries and incident trends into actionable strategies that support the advancement of ULSE standards and engagement activities. Whatyou'lllearnandachieve: AstheStandards Codes Manager,youwill play a key role in the rapid growth ofULas you:
- Inform and execute codes and regulator strategy aligned with organizationalobjectives, ensure priorities, resources, and project outcomes support broaderstandardsdevelopment and advocacy goals.
- Serve as technical lead and subject matter expert for complex projects andcodesrelated initiatives involving multiple technical domains and stakeholder groups.
- Leverageexpertisein safety standards and regulatory compliance to address technical and regulatory gaps and support continuous improvement of safety standards.
- Interpret and contextualize complex codes, regulatory proposals, technicalrequirementsand related documentation, and translatefindingsinto clear actionable recommendations.
- Lead engagement with National Electrical Code (NEC), International Code Council (ICC), and other relevant codes and regulatory bodies, including participation in committees, working groups and external forums.
- Build andmaintainstrategic relationships with code officials, regulatory authorities,standardsdevelopment organizations, government representatives, technical experts, and other external partners.
- Manage end-to-end projects, plan and execute activities across the project lifecycle and ensuretimelyand high-quality deliverables.
- Forecastprojectneedsandanticipateissues. Develop and apply solutions and implement proactive strategies to address complex,undefinedand ambiguous challenges.
- Collaborate and partner closely with cross-functional teams to align technical work with organizational priorities and stakeholder needs.
- Provide technical oversight within the Codes function. Establish effective program governance, documentation,reportingand escalation practices to ensure quality,consistencyand rigor of all Codes initiatives. Integrate solutions into existing processes and workflows, ensure recommendations are sound and actionable to support successful deployment and adaptation.
- Lead, guide, coach and train junior and seasoned team members. Cultivatea collaborativeenvironment to ensureteam'ssuccess in effective execution of standards activities.
- Represent ULSE at industry-related functions such as conferences,seminars,and trade shows.
- Develop and present technical content for diverse audiences including committees, working groups,conferences,and other stakeholder forums. Facilitate technical discussions among stakeholders, to support consensus building and sound decision making.
- Maintaincontinued awareness of industry trends and external context related to the portfolio. Stay current with regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks governing public safety.

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Regulatory Affairs, Public Policy or related technical or professional discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 9 years ofdirectly relatedtechnical work experience.
- Demonstratedexperience managing complex technical programs or interdisciplinary projects involving multiple stakeholders, workstreams, and organizational functions.
- Experienceparticipatingin or supporting code development,standardsdevelopment, regulatory or consensus-based processes. Direct experience with NEC, ICC or comparable codes and regulatory bodies.
- Experience developing technical positions, regulatory comments, code proposals, strategic recommendations, or other materials intended to inform or influence external codes,standardsor policy processes.
- Familiarity with product safety, standards development, testing, certification, regulatory compliance, or related technical role.
- Experience with US and Canadian Standards and Codes, as well as national, regional, and international standardization bodies.
- PMP or relevant project management certificationa plus.
