We're seeking a Hardware Designer II to support the design, development, and documentation of advanced semiconductor equipment. In this role, you'll create complex mechanical designs, develop 3D assemblies, generate engineering drawings and BOMs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative products from concept through manufacturing.

What You'll Do:
  • Design and develop mechanical components, subassemblies, and hardware systems for semiconductor equipment.
  • Create and release engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and documentation through Engineering Change Management processes.
  • Develop 3D electrical and pneumatic harness routing models within CAD environments.
  • Create and manage large, complex CAD assemblies and multi-CAD product layouts.
  • Develop concept designs and detailed solutions for mechanical components and subsystems.
  • Generate production drawings and support design reviews throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, field service, supply chain, and program management teams to define specifications and complete designs.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on performance, quality, and cost reduction.
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, hardware design, product development, or engineering design environments.
  • 3+ years of experience using CAD software such as Siemens NX, Creo/Pro-E, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar 3D modeling platforms.
  • 2+ years of experience creating engineering drawings, BOMs, assemblies, and manufacturing documentation.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting mechanical design releases through engineering change management processes.
  • 2+ years of experience developing complex assemblies, layouts, and component-level mechanical designs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, CAD Design, or a related technical discipline preferred.
What Sets You Apart:
  • Strong proficiency with Siemens NX.
  • Experience with 3D electrical harness routing and pneumatic routing within CAD platforms.
  • Experience supporting semiconductor, capital equipment, automation, or advanced manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal design, machined components, and casting processes.
  • Experience supporting metal machining, fabrication, and manufacturing operations.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Understanding of welding symbols, surface finish requirements, and ASME drafting standards.
  • Experience creating multi-level assemblies and managing large CAD datasets.
  • Cable routing experience within 3D CAD environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Overtime: May be required based on project schedules and business priorities.
  • Work Environment: Engineering and product development environment supporting advanced semiconductor equipment.
  • Schedule: Full-time onsite assignment.
  • Worksite Location: 4300 Cushing Parkway, Fremont, CA.
