Job Summary
Provides patients and families with orientation to Child Life Services and developmentally appropriate play in bedside, playroom, and clinic settings. Works with Child Life staff to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate play and activity programs for children. Supervises volunteers as needed.

Qualifications



  • Two years of college coursework or an associate degree in Child Development, Human Development, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience in a Child Life program preferred
  • Knowledge of child development, teaching methods, and basic medical terminology
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, time management, and multicultural interaction skills
  • Ability to plan activities based on children's psychosocial and developmental needs
  • Basic supervisory skills and ability to work with volunteers
  • No certification or licensure required
  • Minimum nine months' experience working with children in a school, daycare, volunteer, or hospital Child Life setting preferred


Salary Range: Minimum 21.88/hour - Maximum 36.13/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
